Philadelphia Union vs. Orlando City Soccer


Today’s tough match up between Orlando City SC and Philadelphia Union was held at the newly renamed Camping World Stadium. With a total attendance of 24,109 fans to cheer on Orlando City SC, as they look to maintain their winning record at home.

A defensive long first half of 45 minutes tested both team’s cooperation and durability as each side took turns exchanging the ball across the field. Orlando and Philadelphia worked hard to find that first goal but both fell short. With the opportunities created from Orlando’s 4 corner kicks and Philadelphia’s 2 neither team was able to capitalize.

It wasn’t until the second half that the teams broke the silence a scored. Filling the stadium with excitement and roars from the crowd, Philadelphia’s Tranquillo Barnetta netted the first goal in the 52 minute of play with the assisted help from Chris Pontius and Ken Tribbet. With the Union taking the lead for only a short period of time Orlando City’s Kevin Molino responded with a goal of his own making the game tied at one a piece in the 68th minute of the second half. Which was shortly followed by another goal in the 71’ minute, which was netted by Orlando’s Cyle Larin with assisted help from Kaka.

The crowd roared and filled the Stadium with an aroma of support cheering on the Orlando city SC. The fans once again witnessed Orlando maintaining a winning record at home. As Philadelphia managed to tie the game 2-2 in the 75’ minute with a Ken Tribbett goal.

Orlando City SC looks to take on New York City at Yankee Stadium 4:00 p.m.
