Final Day of the Special Olympics in Orlando.

May 22, 2016 was the second day of the Florida Special Olympics. The 95-degree weather and the cheers from the crowd made this seem like a really good day to be outside. There were athletic events such as relay race, 400 meter and 100 meter races. It was amazing to see all the people participating and encouraging each other.

One of the participants, Jeff, who participated in 400 and 100 Relay, expressed his feelings when asked how his experience was by saying “It felt inspiring and I have been participating from past 19 years.”

We also got the opportunity to talk to one of the volunteers, Detective Cory Targia. “Its enlightening. It is one of the best things he has ever done as a police officer," he says. Detective Targia also told us he has volunteered at the Special Olympics for the past 12 years.

In the end I think that the miracle isn’t that they finished, it's that they had the courage to start.
